The clients had long loved their traditional Craftsman home in Pasadena, nestled within a historic district rich with architectural character. As their lifestyle evolved, they recognized the need for a home that could support more fluid, everyday living while honoring its original charm. Our collaboration focused on preserving the soul of the space, its woodwork, warmth, and details, while reimagining the layout to better serve the rhythms of modern family life.
They also loved to cook, but their original kitchen was cramped and lacked both counter space and storage. We reconfigured the layout to create a more functional, open workspace that allows them to cook together with ease. In the living room, we designed a new fireplace featuring handcrafted Arts and Crafts tile, now a central gathering point in the home.
Highlights
Both bathrooms were fully remodeled. In the guest bathroom, to be shared by their daughters, we removed the outdated tub and created a spacious walk-in shower featuring hand-painted tile drawing, bringing both character and functionality to the space.
The newly configured primary suite includes a serene ensuite bath, walk-in closet, and integrated laundry area, making daily routines more comfortable and efficient.Throughout the home, we layered in new finishes, lighting, plumbing fixtures, built-in millwork, and custom drapery infusing every space with a renewed sense of ease while honoring the home’s original spirit.
Classic ivory, warm wheat, soft sage, earthy red brown, and brown black.
