Bathrom Remodel
Our client sought to transform her outdated, narrow bathroom into a bright, contemporary space that complements her 1928 Spanish-style bungalow. Her vision was to blend the historical charm of the 1920s with modern, spa-like elements. We achieved this by selecting materials and decorative elements that harmonized with the original style of her home while incorporating modern functionality and aesthetics.
Highlights
Key features included maximizing natural light through rain glass windows and skylights, and integrating non-institutional grab bars for safety without compromising style. The design prominently featured Stars and Cross tiles, as well as a blue-green low curb shower tile for the shower area. The use of durable yet luxurious materials like porcelain and polished nickel fixtures further enhanced the space’s timeless appeal.
A custom rift-cut oak vanity with a high closed storage tower cabinet and hamper, seven drawers (including one under the sink for extra storage), and a decorative display niche for the client’s glass collection were included to maximize storage and add personal touches. Additionally, a teak shower stool was incorporated to utilize every square inch of space. Despite challenges with the narrow layout and the quirks of an old building, the result is a beautifully renovated luxury bathroom that feels much larger and more open, balancing practicality with elegant design.
