SAN MARINO

Historic District Remodel and Furnishings

LIVING ROOM

The client contacted us after purchasing their new home in the historic neighborhood of San Marino. They initially wanted new furnishings and finishes but during our 2-hr in-home consultation realized that they needed a kitchen with eat-in dining and that some construction would also be needed for the primary bed, bathroom and to convert the old 70’s style wood paneled rec room into a playroom. The living room had a traditional layout with a double door entry, the client wanted to split the long room to have one side with a more traditional seating area and the other side more casual.

Highlights

To make the home function for a family with two young children, we modified the kitchen island, and reconfigured cabinets to create an eat-in kitchen. We came up with a new cabinet configuration to include a wine cooler from the rec room which were matched to existing cabinets which were then painted. The backsplash and stone countertops were designed and installed. Oak flooring was matched to existing where needed. A new color palette paint, wallpaper, antiques, furnishings, lighting, fixtures and custom draperies were add throughout the home.
